Question: Why don’t you have wedding prices shown on your website?
Weddings are a difficult and arbitrary event to price. My packages begin at $500, but in truth, every wedding is different. There are so many variables, there is no one good price that covers all circumstances. And, not every bride is aware of every option available to them, as this is probably their first and only wedding. The main difference is the amount of coverage and / or if a wedding album is to be included. Coverage meaning the number of hours/duration, and if a second shooter is desired to better capture details or different angles of your event.
The best way to determine a new bride’s needs, is to schedule an appointment, meet face to face and review all the details together. A good analogy; a Bride wouldn’t buy a wedding dress over the phone, nor should a bride book a wedding over the phone without viewing a photographer’s portfolio! Plus, you can meet me, and I can meet you, and make sure we’re compatible before we decide to move forward in the process. During a consult, facts will be gathered, several options will be discussed, a range of wedding albums will be presented, etc. We know that this is a HUGE decision, so you’ll want to make not only an informed decision, but the best decision to fit your needs.
Probably the most important issue is whether you like the images and how they are captured. After all, after the wedding ceremony, the cake, the wonderful dinner, “THE” most important memory you have left will be your wedding images. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard brides state that they wished they had chosen a better photographer. Whether you select me, or someone else that might fit your needs better, selecting a skilled and experienced photographer whose images you really like, should be “The” number one and most important element of your decision. And, should you choose a different photographer, no hurt feelings, but just know I’ll be happy to offer up advice towards making your day, “Perfect.”
Rick Thompson Photography uses multiple cameras, multiple lens and different lighting techniques to capture a wide range of images. When I shoot, I always shoot with the idea of creating a wedding album as I’m a “Story Teller” capturing a digital record of the day’s events. I try to capture the emotion, the intimacy, and the details of the day so that each image is a reflection of your wedding day experience.
